Paediatric First Aid

(Emergency and Advanced)

Our one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course is the perfect option for parents or staff who are in regular contact with children, either in a professional or personal capacity. Covering CPR, choking, seizures and much more, this course provides everything needed to keep children safe in the event of a medical emergency.

Our two-day Advanced course extends the Emergency training with the added modules of poisoning, musculoskeletal injuries, and childhood illnesses.

  • To preserve the life of a child casualty in the event of a medical emergency.

  • To understand the laws and guidelines governing first aid.

  • To recognise common risks and hazards that might give rise to a medical emergency.

  • To develop confidence and proficiency in performing first aid techniques, and understand when we need to apply them.

  • To understand how to maintain the safety of the casualty and the scene around them.

  • To effectively demonstrate a range of first aid techniques, including CPR, chokes, recovery positions, and bandaging.


  • To identify the causes, signs and symptoms of different types of poisoning.

  • To recognise the signs, symptoms and treatment of musculoskeletal injures, including sprains and strains.

  • To effectively demonstrate the application of a support sling and an elevation sling.

  • To understand the signs, symptoms and causes of anaphylaxis, and how it is treated in a first aid situation.

  • To identify the signs, symptoms and causes of common illnesses that occur during childhood.


Emergency: 6 hours teaching (7 Hour day to include breaks).

Advanced: 12 hours teaching (7 hours each day to include breaks)
